Hunting in Botswana

Trophy hunting on state lands has been banned by the Botswana Ministry of Environment, Wildlife, and Tourism since 2013. The ban was enacted due to concerns about the declining numbers of several wildlife species, and the ban was expected to remain in effect until those declines were reversed. Hunting is still allowable on private game ranches in Botswana.
